Claimtrack, Inc. (“ClaimTrack,” “we,” “us”) helps people organize and pursue their own personal injury claims. This policy explains what information we collect when you use empoweredbyct.com and the ClaimTrack application (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address, and password, or the profile information shared by a sign-in provider such as Google.
- Claim information: details you enter about your incident, injuries, medical treatment, vehicles, insurers, adjusters, and other parties.
- Documents and media: photos, medical bills, police reports, insurance letters, and other files you upload.
- Communications: messages you send to us and content you enter into the in-app assistant.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and the last four digits of your card, never the full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Session cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use information
- To provide the Service: organizing your claim, estimating its value, tracking deadlines, and drafting documents such as demand letters at your direction.
- To operate your account, process subscription payments, and send transactional email (verification codes, receipts, deadline reminders).
- To respond to support requests.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
- To improve the Service, using aggregated or de-identified information where practical.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your claim information to train general-purpose AI models.
AI features
Parts of the Service use large language models to summarize what you tell us, suggest next steps, and draft documents. To do this, relevant portions of your claim information are sent to our AI providers (currently Anthropic; if you record a call, Amazon Web Services also transcribes the audio) under agreements that prohibit them from using your data to train their models. AI output can be wrong; review everything before you rely on it or send it to anyone.
If you use the live Call Assistant, your browser’s built-in speech recognition turns the call audio into text on your device or through the browser vendor’s speech service (Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari), subject to that vendor’s privacy policy. The resulting transcript, and the audio recording if your browser captured one, are stored with your claim.
Sharing
We share information only with:
- Service providers who process it on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, authentication), Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in, if you choose it), and the AI providers above.
- Recipients you choose, such as when you download a demand letter and send it to an insurer. We don’t send anything to insurers or other parties on your behalf without your action.
- Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of ClaimTrack, our users, or others.
- A successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
Google user data
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We use them only to create and identify your account. ClaimTrack’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention
We keep your account and claim information for as long as your account is open. Personal injury claims can run for years, so we don’t delete claim data automatically. When you delete your account, we delete your claim information and uploaded files within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal, tax, or security reasons (for example, payment records).
Your choices
- Access and export: you can view and download your claim information and documents from within the Service at any time.
- Correction: you can edit your account and claim information in the Service.
- Deletion: email support@empoweredbyct.com from your account address and we will delete your account and data as described above.
- Email: you can opt out of non-essential email; we’ll still send account and security messages.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
Security
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, store files in access-controlled cloud storage, and limit staff access to what is needed to run the Service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Children
The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the Service.
